Peru, Colombia Chancellors prepare 2nd Binational Cabinet to be held in Medellin

Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Maria Sanchez welcomed her Colombian counterpart Maria Angela Holguin at Lima’s Torre Tagle Palace in order to set the ground for the 2nd Binational Cabinet and Presidential Meetings to be held in Medellin on October 30th.

Both authorities' agenda included preparations for the first reunion of chairpersons of the Peru-Colombia Border Integration Zone Binational Commission, as well as for the fourth Consultation and Political Coordination Mechanism known as "2+2" on security and defense.

Defense Ministers Jakke Valakivi (Peru) and Luis Carlos Villegas (Colombia), besides high military commands from both countries, gathered to discuss matters of interest.

That meeting is aimed at strengthening bilateral relationships on security, defense and discussing, among other aspects, cooperation in humanitarian demining, defense industry and sustainability social action plan, the Peruvian Chancellery reported.

It must be noted Torre Tagle Palace hosts Peru's Foreign Affairs Ministry headquarters.
