Peru's Culture Ministry has signed a Joint Statement with the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC) to promote audiovisual exchange.

The aim is to foster bilateral cooperation in televised programs and participation of audiovisual professionals in cinema festivals and television projects.

The agreement was reached within the framework of the seminar "China and Peru on Display: Making and distribution of television documentaries."

During the event, Deputy Minister of Cultural Heritage and Cultural Industries Jorge Arrunategui said the Culture Ministry is convinced culture is a key element in the development of a just society that recognizes its diversity as a source of originality and the basis for social well-being.

The document promotes cooperation and exchange of information on the production of televised programs.

To that end, academic experts and professionals from both countries will be trained in television and media exchange programs to promote cultural and trade cooperation.

The Joint Statement will come into force on the date of its signing and will continue thereafter for two years.

Established in July of 1949, the China Federation of Literature and Art Circles (CFLAC) is composed of literati and artists’ associations, literature and art federations at the provincial, regional and municipal levels, as well as literature and art federations in all walks of life throughout China.
