Peruvian traditional ‘Ceviche’s sale reached a growth of nearly 35% at seafood restaurants, compared to any ordinary Sunday, cook and Ceviche campaign spokesperson Augusto Sanchez affirmed.

The increase is due to “Dia del Ceviche” (Ceviche Day) celebrated in Peru on Sunday. The aforementioned is a Peruvian traditional dish cooked with raw fish, salt, lemon and chili.

According to the chef, restaurants had been offering discounts to clients in the framework of  "Ceviche Week" to boost fish consumption during the current seven days. Usually, its consumption is expected to decline due to the "seasonality" in June.

After ceviche, most demanded dishes are the hot ones, such as “sudados, parihuelas and jaleas, among others.” Those products are followed by “Leche de Tigre”.
