Peru: Business expectations remain optimistic

Business expectations indexes remained at optimistic levels in May this year, Central Reserve Bank's (BCR) latest Survey on Macroeconomic Expectations showed.

According to the survey, economic and sector expectations for the next 12 months stood at 65.3 points and 62.6 points, respectively.

Likewise, the same indexes for the next three months stood at 54.2 points and 57.8 points, respectively.

Also on the optimistic trend were company situation (61.1 points), personnel recruitment (50.9 points) and company product demand (61.9 points) indexes for the next 3 months.

The BCR's survey shows that business people remain optimistic about the current situation, with the current business situation index standing at 58.0.

The level of sales reached 54.1 points, purchase orders compared to the previous month 53.4 points, and production level 53.2 points.

On the other hand, indexes at pessimistic levels have started to see improvement.
