Peru has been considered the country with the best development outlooks in the region, as well as the world's best-positioned in the economic field despite the current international economic situation, the Chairman of Peruvian GPI Valores brokerage, Luis Felipe Arizmendi affirmed.

This positive result was registered at the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the WBG and the IMF.

"That's because the country has set very clear macroeconomic policies, which have been analyzed and carefully followed by multilateral organizations over the last 20 years. Moreover, the policies have been added social inclusion and several established commitments assumed on the climate change basis," he told Andina news agency.

If a list of countries -that will face the new global economic equilibrium under better conditions- was created, Peru would be one of the countries displaying best outlooks, as long as the production becomes more dynamic again.

"Although it is true that we may probably not [economically] grow at rates between 6% and 7%, it is very likely we could reach rates ranging between 5% and 5.5%, and that's highly significant," he indicated.

On the other hand, the GPI Valores Chairman highlighted Peru hosting the WBG/IMF Meetings.

Arizmendi was emphatic on affirming attendees were gratified with the meetings, which demonstrates Peru is totally prepared to organize events of such magnitude.

"Peru has proven that it is able to face any challenge, since it has a great potential to achieve great things," Arizmendi stated.
