Peru beats Trinidad and Tobago 4-0 in friendly match

Peru national soccer team easily scored four goals to beat Trinidad and Tobago 4-0 in a friendly match at National Station in Lima.

Peruvians will now prepare to face El Salvador on May 28 as part of their last game prior to the Copa America Centenario tournament.

Goals were scored by Christian Cueva at the 35th minute, Luiz Beto Da Silva (39’), Edison Flores (49’) and Cristian Benavente (90+2’).

Peru started taking control of the game since the beginning, but did not fully reach the opponent's in-goal area. It was until the 18th minute that they got their first chance to break the tie.

Peru will face El Salvador in Washington D.C. in their last friendly ahead their participation at Copa America Centenario.

The South American tournament will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a special edition held in the United States for the first time from June 3 to 26.

The national side is in group B along with Brazil, Ecuador and Haiti.
