Peru backs Mexico's bid to join TPP talks

Peru's Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Jose Luis Silva said that Peru supports Mexico's plan to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement as Peru has common interests with this country.
Silva noted that Mexico has the ability to share the TPP's high level of ambition and specially is open to trade goods and services without exclusions.

He also said that Mexico's integration to the TPP requires the approval of Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Chile, United States, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.      

In addition, Silva stated that trade relationship between Peru and Mexico is in a great time after the entry into force of the Trade Integration Agreement between both countries in February, and the forthcoming Pacific Alliance with Colombia and Chile. 

He added that both countries have common interests in different commercial fields, international forums like the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.
