Peru awards projects to build two regional hospitals

The Spanish consortium Sacyr has been awarded contracts worth US$110 million to build two hospitals in Peru, company spokesmen has said.
The regional government of Pasco, in central Peru, has granted a 27.4 million euro (US$37.5 million) contract to a consortium for the update of the Roman Egoavil Pando Hospital in Oxapampa province.

The health facility is set to have 12 buildings, 75 beds and 23 examining rooms, providing service to about 70,000 residents.

Furthermore, the regional government of Junin, in Peru’s central highlands, awarded Sacyr a 53.5 million euro (US$73.3 million) contract for the construction of a regional hospital.

According to 4-traders, the new hospital is expected to provide oncology services to residents of Junin, Ayacucho, Huancavelica, Pasco and Huanuco regions, benefiting a population of some 3.5 million.

The consortium, made up of Sacyr Construccion, Construcciones Malaga and Dominion, operates in Peru, Chile, Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil, Panama and Mexico.
