According to Peru's Vice President Marisol Espinoza, the good performance of the Peruvian economy and its growth prospects have piqued the interest of both investors and business leaders.
Peru, she said, has been showcased at this forum as one of the fastest growing countries, above 6 percent at present, which is particularly important in times of global financial crisis.
Espinoza noted that the event highlighted the efforts of President Ollanta Humala's government to promote inclusive economic growth, with a focus on the poorest sectors of Peruvian society.
Espinoza, who is also a lawmaker from ruling Gana Perú party, remarked that during a meeting organized by the Peruvian Foreign Ministry, foreign entrepreneurs have expressed interest in developing infrastructure projects, such as road construction, in the country.
Next year’s World Economic Forum on Latin America will be held in Lima, Peru, on 23-25 April 2013.
