Peru: Andean grains and energy drinks seeks to stand out at Expoalimentaria 2015

Among innovations at Expoalimentaria 2015 fair, which kicked off on Wednesday, are native Andean grain-made products and organic energy drinks.

In that line, Sierra Exportadora program will introduce both types of the said goods, which seek to stand out at this international food exhibition.

Regarding Andean grains, certified organic, conventional and sprouted quinoa, its by-products, as well as organic chia seeds will be presented to attendees.

Likewise, blueberry-, strawberry-, passion fruit-, carrot-, maca-, acai- and chia-made energy drinks will be offered to potential buyers.

Government-run Sierra Exportadora program Chairman Alfonso Velásquez indicated these high-quality products have been elaborated under quality and safety standards required by global markets. Besides, they rely on certifications, which turn them into "competitive goods."

These products will be on display at the A41 and A43 booths.

Other Andean products such as yellow chili, onion paste, dehydrated banana, mango compote,  stevia, ground apple- sweetened chia, special coffee, ripened cheeses and dehydrated aguaymanto, among others, are also to be found at this site.

Expoalimentaria 2015 is organized by Peru's Exporters Association (ADEX) and will be held on 26-28 August. This edition will feature 587 enterprises (425 domestic and 162 international).

Besides, 15 country pavilions for: Brazil, Ecuador, the Netherlands, Mexico, Italy, Denmark, Turkey, Greece, India and Indonesia have been created.
