Mexican daily Reforma has included Peru in a list of the world's most popular and must visit tourist destinations for 2013, according to Peru's export and tourism promotion board, or Promperu.
In its travel section, the newspaper highlighted the twelve must-visit destinations for 2013, based on information from international travel magazines.
While India heads the list of top tourist destinations for 2013, Peru ranks fourth behind Sri Lanka and South Korea.
Other places in the list include the Dominican Republic, Turkey, Oslo (Norway), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), London (UK), Berlin (Germany) and the French Polynesia.
The ranking is based on various criteria, such as natural and cultural attractions, cuisine and tourism development.
