Tourist Protection Networks were established in 23 regions of the country, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) announced.
At the national level, the Regional Tourist Protection Networks of Cusco, Lambayeque, Piura and Iquitos have shown signs of "good progress," it was announced.
Likewise, the mechanism had been checked and responds to the demand for tourism safety, as well as for facing natural disasters, common crime, social conflicts and even traffic collisions.
All players interact on the Lambayeque Tourist Protection Network, "but little by little we must make the Public Ministry interact, so it provides legal support for the defense of tourists and also for the punishments on those, who act illegally against tourists," the network technical secretary of the network Jose Jaimes said.
