Peru: 2018 Budget to prioritize public investment

The Executive Power will next week present the 2018 Fiscal Year Public Budget Bill to Congress, Economy and Finance Minister Fernando Zavala affirmed on Wednesday.

Parliament will be in charge of conducting debate among legislators and giving approval on the matter.

According to the also Prime Minister, next year's budget will maintain current expenditure and prioritize public investment.

"Peru's gross domestic product will be boosted by public spending, higher mineral prices —on international markets— and the articulated work with Congress," he expressed.

Finally, Zavala projected higher metal prices will have a positive impact on Peruvian economy.
