Domestic investment in Peru accounted for 28.9% of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) in the fourth quarter of 2014, mainly due to the dynamism of the private capital, informed Peru’s Central Reserve Bank (BCR).

The issuing entity pointed out this level reflects a slight decline of 0.1%, compared to the same period in 2013.

BCR added that a reduction in public investment was observed during the analysis period, which was partly offset by an increase in the private investment.

Meanwhile, domestic savings dropped from 27% of GDP in the fourth quarter of 2013 to 26.1% in the same period of 2014, largely due to a decline in public savings.
