Pedro Olaechea sworn in as Peru's Production Minister

Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski on Thursday afternoon administered the oath to Pedro Olaechea Alvarez-Calderon, the new Production Minister to replace Bruno Giuffra.

It must be noted Olaechea was elected congressman for PPK party in the 2016 general elections.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Golden Hall of the Government Palace in Lima.

Led by the Head of State, the event saw the presence of Prime Minister Fernando Zavala, as well as other cabinet members.

As is known, Giuffra will now serve as new Transport and Communications Minister.

Bio

63-year-old Olaechea graduated in Economics from Lima-based Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru (PUCP).

Likewise, the recently-appointed minister holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from Henley Management College (UK). 

In addition, he served as President of the Andean country's National Society of Industries (SNI) in 2009-2012.
