Peru's star striker and captain Paolo Guerrero joined celebrations following the national soccer team's qualification for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Via Facebook, the Peruvian athlete expressed his delight to see his beloved red-white returning to a World Cup by stating "everybody's dream has become a reality."
"Today, we are more united than ever before. We are in Russia," the post reads.
It must be noted Peruvians have not participated in a World Cup event since 1982.
As is known, Guerrero was not allowed to take part in any of the intercontinental playoff matches given the
30-day suspension imposed on him by governing body FIFA.
In the first leg held in Wellington last Saturday, both teams saw a
0-0 draw.
As for the return match, the Peru-New Zealand clash ended 2-0 in favor of the Incas.
In this sense, goals from Jefferson Farfan (27th minute) and Christian Ramos (65th) were enough to secure the 2018 World Cup tournament's last spot.
