Pacific Alliance Presidents head to Paracas to join 10th Summit

Heads of State of Peru, Colombia, Mexico and Chile will arrive in Paracas beach area today to attend the 10th Summit of the Pacific Alliance.

Ollanta Humala, Juan Manuel Santos, Enrique Peña Nieto and Michelle Bachelet will arrive at Pisco’s Air Base, to then head to Paracas city, where the Summit currently takes place since Wednesday in the presence of Peruvian Ministers of Production, Piero Ghezzi, and Foreign Trade, Magali Silva, among others. 

The four Latin American leaders are due to participate as speakers in the presentation “Pacific Alliance: Future Vision” starting at 18:00 hours (23:00 GMT).

The President of the Inter-American Development Bank, Luis Alberto Moreno, will serve as moderator.

Organizers indicated that Peruvian President Ollanta Humala will deliver a closing speech at the end of the Business Summit.

The Business Summit of the Pacific Alliance is made up of high-level businessmen of the four member countries and is aimed at promoting the mechanism at the regional and global level, provide suggestions to improve its development and boost joint actions towards third markets.

On the other hand, on Thursday the PA Council of Ministers will hold its first session within the framework of the bloc’s 10th Summit.

The first session of the Council of Ministers will start at 9:00 hours (14:00 GMT) and will run through 13:00 hrs. (18:00 GMT) at the Libertador Hotel.

Afterwards, a lunch in honor of participants will be offered following the Council of Ministers' Meeting official photograph.

The Council of Ministers’ second session will be held in the afternoon at the same venue. 

On Friday, July 3, main day of the Summit, presidents will sign the Paracas Declaration during the closing ceremony.
