Over 180 Peruvian enterprises to place products on int'l markets thanks to roundtable

Over 180 national small and medium-sized enterprises and 130 purchasers from 22 countries will participate in the ‘Industria Peru 2015’ business roundtable to be held on August 14, Peru’s Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Magali Silva announced.

The event is the outcome of joint work undertaken by the Mincetur-run Trade Offices abroad (OCEXs) and the Peru’s Export and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru).

The activity is aimed at continuing to position and promoting the country's manufactured export supply, which quality has been "gaining ground" thanks to the integration of new input, technologies and technical certifications demanded by international markets, Silva indicated.

The head of the Ministry highlighted the current edition has involved intensive efforts carried out by Promperu and OCEX, which were intended to increase the participation of exporters and international buyers.

With regard to national entrepreneurs, attendance will increase by 73% compared to the similar period last year. Of the total, 87% are small and medium-sized enterprises. An extra 44% have been invited to attend the gathering in comparison with the previous edition.

Following products will be dealt: Spare parts, cosmetics, electrical, materials, construction finishing materials, food industry equipment, wood products, mining supplies, medical equipment and material.

The 180 national enterprises are based in regions Arequipa, Junin, Loreto, Madre de Dios, Ucayali and Lima.

Most buyers will come from Latin America, US, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Czech Republic, Germany and Spain. Bolivian, Colombian and Panamanian entrepreneurs’ participation stand out.
