Eleven micro- and small enterprises won the "Premio Nacional a la Mype para la Inclusión Productiva 2014" (National Prize to Micro- and Small Enterprises for the Productive Inclusion 2014), organized by the Ministry of Production (Produce).

The prize awards entrepreneurs' efforts to promote jobs and for being the “evidence of social and productive inclusion,” the Production Ministry explained.

Deputy Minister of Micro- and Small Enterprises (Mype) and Industry, Carlos Carrillo, indicated this is the highest recognition the State gives to this productive sector's members.

As well, Carrillo affirmed the selected entrepreneurs will benefit from a free internship program to be developed in any Latin American country. Expenses are fully covered by Produce.

"This internship will help them enrich their knowledge by carrying out technical visits, sharing experiences with [members of] enterprises in the same sector, attending specialized fairs and establishing new contacts for future business opportunities," he stated.

The winners are: Amaru Tours, Consultoría y Supervisión, Corporación Medica San Martín, Distribuidora de Madera y Funeraria Santa Ana, Emaran, Fijucy Empaquetaduras, Industrias y Negocios Picoli, Ingeniería de Control Digital, Negocios y Servicios Postales, Servicios Generales y Embalajes y Transformaciones Químicas del Perú.

Those enterprises represent 6 Peruvian regions. Those are: Arequipa, Apurimac, Lambayeque, Lima, San Martin and Puno. Those belong to the 'commerce and services' or the 'industry sector.'

Carrillo said Produce promotes the increase of micro- and small enterprises productivity as a mechanism to achieve growth and business development.

It should be noted in August last year, Produce extended invitations to enterprises in Tacna, which led them to obtain a record number of proposals: 4,024 enterprises from 18 regions of the country.

The contest's categories were five: Enterprising Spirit and Internationalization; Leadership and Business Strategy; Creativity and Business Innovation; Formal Jobs, Social and Environmental Responsibility and Customer-focused approach and Excellence Vocation.
