Mexico: Pacific Alliance, model of successful cooperation and integration

The Mexican President, Enrique Peña Nieto, pointed out the Pacific Alliance is an example of successful regional integration and cooperation, after his arrival in Pisco, Peru for the bloc’s 10th Summit.

Peña Nieto arrived Wednesday at 11:39 PM (local time) at the Pisco Air Base. He was welcomed by Peruvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ana Maria Sanchez, State Ceremonial and Protocol Director Alberto Galvez de Rivero and Mexican Ambassador to Peru Ernesto Campos Tenoro.

The Mexican leader used his Twitter account to convey best wishes to his Peruvian counterpart Ollanta Humala, who will take the pro tempore presidency of the Alliance.

Later, at 02:30 PM (local time), Peña Nieto will be honored with the Francisco Bolognesi Military Order in the Grade of Grand Cross and the Order of the Great Admiral Miguel Grau. The ceremony will take place at the Libertador Hotel.

The event will see Defense Minister Jakke Valakivi and commanders-in-chief of the Navy and the Army.

After that, the two presidents will have a lunch with the Peruvian First Lady Nadine Heredia.

At 06:30 PM, Presidents Ollanta Humala, Enrique Peña Nieto, Michelle Bachelet and Juan Manuel Santos will take part at the panel of Heads of State of the Business Summit.

Colombian and Chilean Presidents are expected to arrive in the afternoon.
