Latin Focus Consensus Forecast raised its growth projection for Peruvian economy from 3.6% to 3.7% for 2016.
Likewise, the organization noted the Inca country's economy will remain healthy.
It also stressed Peru's economic activity expanded 4.9% in May, nearly double the rate reached last April. Thus, May results exceeded market's expectations (4.7%).
The increase was the strongest in three months, it pointed out.
Continuous growth
Peru’s economy has experienced 82 consecutive months of expansion, Latin Focus Consensus Forecast highlighted.
Continuous production growth was boosted by sound external demand for Peruvian traditional products, according to the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI).
In this sense, economic activity growth was underpinned by mining and other sectors.
2017
In its latest report, Latin Focus Consensus Forecast projected Peru's GDP will expand 4.1% next year. Ergo, the organization retained growth projection published last July.
