Korean Ambassador to Peru, Jang Keun-ho, highlighted the high-level cooperation between the two countries in different fields such as education, science and technology, as well as in industrial and defense sectors.

The diplomat recalled that last year both nations marked the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

It is worth noting relations have continued to develop over the years, and President Humala’s May 2012 visit to South Korea marked an inflection point in bilateral relations.

“Mr. Humala’s visit is a milestone in the course of cooperation. At that time, the Peruvian leader and then South Korean President Lee Myung-bak agreed to raise the bilateral relationship to the status of integral strategic association.

According to the high government official, the Republic of Korea is at Peru’s disposal to share not only its experience, knowledge and technology, but also its vision of the future.

He thanked Mr. Humala and the South Korean President Park Geun Hye, because thanks to their combined effort and support, two South Korean training aircraft were presented at the Peruvian Air Force base in Las Palmas on Tuesday.
