World acclaimed Peruvian tenor Juan Diego Florez stressed that the music of Peru is as varied as its emblematic gastronomy, and highlighted the importance of such art to transform and bring hope to those most in need.

“Our music is as varied as our cuisine, which everybody praises; I can see the music I love and which I grew up with enhanced through Sinfonia por el Peru (Symphony for Peru),” Florez said.

He also noted the participation of the Symphonic Orchestra and Children's Choir as part of the program set by Sinfonia por el Peru for the closing ceremony of the 2015 Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.

Attendees will be delighted by the rhythms and the well-known Andean melody "El Condor Pasa" — which evokes a sense of national Peruvian identity — as well as the traditional and always elegant “Marinera.”
