Japan donates mobile units to Peruvian firefighters

00:15 | Tokyo (Japan), Dec. 29.

The Japan Firefighters Association donated 10 mobile units to the General Corps of Volunteer Firefighters of Peru (CGBVP), the Andean country's Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.

The donation was officially received by Peruvian Ambassador to Japan Harold Forsyth and immediately shipped to Callao Port in Peru.

This way, a contribution process —started months ago and led by the President's Spousal Support Office— has been completed.

These actions were also supported by the Japanese Government's Official Development Assistance (ODA) section and the aforementioned firefighter association.

It must be noted these highly-efficient firefighting units —such as water tenders and ambulances— will significantly improve Peruvian firefighters' working conditions when extinguishing fires, as well as their emergency response skills.

The contribution also included a wide range of firefighter equipment like helmets, uniforms, boots, hoses, and other essential tools.
