The newly-appointed President of Peru Pedro Pablo Kuczynsi stressed education during his inaugural speech given at the Congress of the Republic in Lima.

“An educated population doesn’t make mistakes,” Kuczynski said when referring to the need of accredited universities to close professional gaps.

The 77-year-old leader assured Peruvian kids will have access to free-of-charge pre-school, elementary and highschool education in 2021, year that marks Peru’s bicentennial.

They will be prepared to pursue professional or technical careers, and purse postgraduate studies at renowned institutions.

“Youngsters will have access to hundreds of opportunities if they are educated,” he said before high-ranking authorities present at the Congress headquarters.

He also expects students can meet international standards in mathematics, and are able to speak a scientific language such as English, Chinese, German, Japanese, or French.
