Peru's capital Lima is set to host a International Monetary Fund's (IMF) conference devoted to discuss means to build more inclusive, just and equitable societies by regional young leaders.
The event, organized by the IMF along with the Economic and Social Research Consortium (CIES) and the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP), is due to be held on Thursday, July 24, in the Peruvian capital.

PUCP's Cultural Center is expected to play as venue of this year's edition of IMF's dialogue, while the opening speech will be delivered by the multilateral entity's Deputy Managing Director Min Zhu.

The one-day gathering titled ‘How to Build a Better Future for Latin America’ will provide an opportunity to discuss the challenges facing by the region, as well as other typical issues of global interest.

The meeting will be streamed live on the university’s website. Zhu will also answer students’ questions channeled through the social media competition “Ask the IMF”.

During the event, the finalists of the IMF essay contest, in which students from the region shared their ideas, thoughts, and proposals, will be announced.

This contest is part of a series of events the IMF is holding in the run-up to the 2015 IMF and World Bank Annual Meetings in Peru that include numerous activities involving young people, academics, and representatives of the public and private sectors.
