Peru's best-paid chief executives can be found in retail and telecommunications, followed by those in holdings, industry, services, logistics, engineering-construction-hydrocarbons, technology, consumption and pharmaceutical sectors, online recruitment site Aptitus' magazine revealed.
According to the publication, the high compensations in these industries are explained by their growth rates, as well as strong market competition and executives' know-how or specialized functions.
Country Managers, Business Unit Managers, General Managers and CEOs in large Peruvian corporations earn between S/28,000 (about US$8,602) and S/120,000 (about US$36,866) a month.
"Top executives' salaries have maintained a trend similar to last year's; salary-setting criteria are still tied to fields of specialization, knowledge and experience developed along their careers," Aptitus Manager Joseph Zumaeta said.
What the expert finds surprising, however, is medium- and high-rank executives' company-choosing criteria: when migrating to another firm, they first consider the organizational climate, then career development opportunities and lastly the salary.
Directors
On the other hand, monthly compensations for Directors, VPs, Functional Managers and Division Managers in leading Peruvian companies range from S/18,000 (about US$5,529.95) to S/70,000 (about US$21,505.38).
Salaries for Regional Managers and Project Managers range from S/12,000 (about US$3,686.64) to S/22,000 (about US$6,758.8); whereas Chiefs, KAMs (Key Account Managers), Product Managers, Control Managers and Brand Managers make between S/8,000 (about US$2,457.76) and S/30,000 (about US$9,216.59) per month.
The aforementioned is based on staffing firm Adecco's database on existing job offers and related salaries.
