High Perfomance Center to be inaugurated in Lima today

Lima High Performance Center (CAR) of Videna (National Sports Village), which will be used for the athletes' preparation towards 2019 Pan-American Games to be held in Lima, will be inaugurated today at 18.00 (local time) by Peru’s President, Ollanta Humala Tasso.


Education Minister, Jaime Saavedra; the president of the Peruvian Sports Institute, Saúl Barrera; high-level authorities and qualified athletes will also participate in this opening ceremony.

This work has a modern velodrome, a warm-up track and 2 sports centers where to hold sports such as: Basketball, handball, gymnastics, weightlifting, shooting, table tennis, badminton, bowling and fencing; and also contact sports like: Karate, kung fu, taekwondo, fighting and judo.

The high performance center also has 120 double rooms, where 240 athletes will be able to concentrate during their competitions period.
