Internet search giant Google dedicates a special doodle to the 195th anniversary of the Peruvian declaration of independence.

On this occasion, Google honours Peru on its 195th anniversary of its independence with an image inspired by the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu —a world heritage site and one of the country's top attractions— that stands out among the letters of the browser's logo.

Google has created at least 20 doodles on Peru over the past years.

The first time a doodle celebrated Peru was in 2008, when it featured a Peruvian flag in the letters of the logo. It commemorated the 187th anniversary of its independence.

"One more time, the icon highlights the constant commitment and interest of Google in the Peruvian reality and identity, by underlining important events and personalities that transcend the history of Peru and the world," Google Communications Manager for Colombia and Peru Susana Pabon indicated
