French journalist François Musseau is the author of the report the renowned international magazine Geo will publish about the Moche Route and its cultural and tourist attractions.

The first stop of his journey was Chan Chan, Chimu Kingdom's capital; he will then head to Huaca de La Luna (Temple of the Moon) and cities of Cajamarca and Chachapoyas.

Cesar Galvez Mora and Víctor Piminchumo Hurtado —the former an archaeologist from La Libertad’s Decentralized Culture Directorate, and the latter a resident archaeologist from the onsite museum and archaeological complex of Chan Chan— shared their knowledge on the site, which will be added to the article

The publication is expected to take place in September.

During his tour through Chan Chan onsite museum, François Musseau enjoyed his visit to the space known as the scale model room —which exhibits the construction process of Chan Chan with the help of special effects such as lighting, sound and video.

He also observed advances in the research of Huaca Toledo located a few meters away from the museum.

Culture Ministry Archaeologist Jorge Meneses noted the importance of such project, whose objectives include registering material and construction techniques, determining architectural designs and construction sequence, defining the purpose of the site and activities carried out and, preserving architectural structures.

“The photographs available online do not convey the real greatness of the place. It is spectacular, and huge,” François Musseau stated.

Geo is a renowned international publication that has more than 400000 subscribers. The magazine has a paper and a computer-based version that captures and shares a very impressive view of the world.
