Peru's delicious gastronomy and traditional dances brought pleasant moments to attendees at Peruvian Festival held in Dubai to commemorate the 196th anniversary of Peru's Independence.
On November 15, the attendees enjoyed a traditional dance show performed by professional dancers.
The performance featured the following folk dances: huaylas, valicha, marinera norteña and marinera limeña.
Nevertheless, the star of the event was the
world-famous Peruvian food and its array of ceviche, quinoa salad,
causas,
anticuchos, empanadas, chicha
morada,
suspiro a la limeña,
arroz con leche and much more.
Everything was made under the guidance of Peruvian chef Luis Rojas.
The Peruvian Festival was organized by the Peruvian Consulate General in the United Arab Emirates, which brought the best of Peru despite being 14,000 km away.
None of the attendees were indifferent to the flavors, colors, rhythms and dances.
The diplomatic mission's main goal was to bring Peruvian culture closer to the Emirati society. Hence the food tasting, the exhibition by Peruvian master weaver Eddie Sulca, and the folk dance performance.
Peruvian Consul General to Dubai Carlos Tavera said he expects Peru-UAE relations to grow stronger and noted the fact that the two nations mark 31 years of bilateral relations this year.
The event was supported by DP World —a leading enabler of global trade that operates terminals and ports in 40 countries.
Additional support was received from American Glass Products (AGP), Best of Latin FoodStuff, Al Khat Al Abyad, MMI, Pisco 1615, Condor Travel, and Global Agency, among others.
