Gasoducto Sur Peruano private investment totals US$1 billion

Construction works at Gasoducto Sur Peruano - GSP (Southern Peru Pipeline) has seen a US$1 billion private investment and the creation of 4,249 job positions so far, the concessionaire consortium informed.

The consortium GSP, formed by Brazil's Odebrecht and Spanish firm Enagas, has become an important source of employment generation in the region with jobs offered along Cusco’s current four fronts.

Despite the pipeline’s construction, the project also includes the restoration and maintenance of more than 400 km of access roads in different provinces of southern Peru. 

A total of 300 km have been restored already in several areas of Cusco and at the moment maintenance phase is under way. 

GSP will stretch 1,134 km through the southern part of the country carrying out cleaner and more economic energy. 

In the beginning, the system will provide 500 million cubic feet of gas per day, which is estimated to increase to 800 million per day in the medium-term.
