Odebrecht's former Chief Executive Officer Marcelo Odebrecht confirmed former Peruvian President Ollanta Humala's campaign received up to US$3 million from Brazil's biggest construction firm.

According to a document signed by Brazilian Supreme Court Judge Edson Fachin and published by newspaper Estadão, Odebrecht made payments through the Division of Structured Operations, which functioned as a bribe department within the conglomerate.

"Odebrecht Group, upon request of Antonio Palocci Filho, paid US$3 million to then presidential candidate Ollanta Humala through the Division of Structured Operations," reads the document.

In February, Odebrecht's former representative in Peru Jorge Barata announced the company had made a donation to the Nationalist Party in 2010, which was received by Humala's wife Nadine Heredia.

At that time, Barata stated cash was given to Heredia on several occasions in an apartment located in the Lima district of Miraflores.

Ollanta Humala served as Peruvian President between 2011 and 2016.
