Peru seeks to close over US$20 million in deals in fisheries and agriculture sectors at today's business rounds in Lima, the Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) reported on Thursday.

Norte Exporta (The North Exports) features over 25 buyers from the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Panama, Chile, Mexico, South Korea, Portugal, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands.

The event serves as a platform for 60 Peruvian firms —mostly small and medium-sized ones (SMEs)— from Lambayeque, La Libertad, Cajamarca, Junin, Piura and Tumbes regions.

Negotiated products include asparagus, pomegranates, organic bananas, mangoes, grapes, blueberries, avocados, pineapples, citrus fruits, as well as giant squid, scallops and dolphin fish, among others.

A great number of SMEs from northern and central Peru follow internationalization process, with the completion of over 500 business meetings and the closure of more than US$20 million in deals.

Norte Exporta is organized by PromPeru and supported by Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) through Trade Offices Abroad (OCEX), located in different markets to connect with potential buyers.
