Peru will become the world’s financial capital for one week, when the Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) take place in Lima on October 5-12, Economy and Finance Minister Alonso Segura affirmed on Tuesday.
"Every financial authority and personality related to the economic sphere will be in Lima during that week," the government official assured.
20,000 visitors
12,000 delegates will arrive in the nation's capital. Thus, a total of 20,000 people are expected to visit the city for the financial mega-event.
Besides the official agenda, a series of activities -organized by several multilateral entities- will be held in Lima during those days, the government official said.
