Business expectations in Peru had previously anchored, but are now picking up inside a context, where the economy entered a strong recovery process, Finance Minister Alonso Segura affirmed.

"If we see the evolution of expectations, they had anchored, hit the bottom. Nonetheless, they started to recover several months ago. That recovery has accelerated; I want to make that clear," he noted.

For instance, hiring expectations are "expanding" and higher acceleration in job creation is expected therefore, he added.

In recent months, domestic demand growth has stood at over 3.5%. According to Segura, this rate stands well below in regional countries.

Copper push

Peru relies on a "very important" copper push, including two expansion- and three new projects, which will favor the national economy.

According to Segura, mining investment decline —due to a global phenomenon associated with commodity price drop— is lower in Peru, if compared to the rest of producing countries.
