Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg noted the importance of investing in infrastructure and connectivity due to the impact it has on people’s development.

A World Bank report estimates that millions of people lack broadband connection and that precisely those countries see lower development levels.

A rise in investment levels and efforts to achieve both objectives prove important for development.

We need to make connectivity a reality, since it is needed to meet other goals, he said after claiming that 40 million people have access to Internet so far.

In this sense, he insisted that governments need to further invest in connectivity and infrastructure.

Zuckerberg delivered the keynote address “the Connectivity Revolution” today during the seventh session of the APEC CEO Summit Peru 2016 held in the Peruvian capital, Lima.
