Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zebari said the Declaration of Lima will reflect the interest of South American and Arab nations in strengthening a common development agenda.
As president of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs, he said the two regions can benefit from each other's experience in fields such as technology, environmental protection and combating desertification.
"The Declaration of Lima made great progress during the 67th General Assembly of the United Nations, held in New York, in the areas of environment, tourism and energy, transportation, and the strengthening of cooperation among our countries," he said.
Moreover, the president of the League of Arab States, Nabil El-Araby, called for resolving the crisis facing Syria and the Palestinian claim to statehood.
