Declaration of Lima to be signed today

The Heads of State and Government of South American and Arab countries will sign Tuesday the Declaration of Lima, a document which will include the major decisions to be taken in the Third ASPA Summit of Heads of State and Government of South American and Arab Countries (ASPA).
The document which contains 70 points including cooperation in education, includes interests of the South American countries and the Arab nations in strengthening a common development agenda, announced Iraq Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hoshyar Zebari, who chairs the ASPA Council of Foreign Ministers. 

The Council has aleady agreed on the text of the Declaration of Lima and it is ready for approval and signing. The document will reflect the agreements reached during the Third Summit of South American and Arab Countries.

The declaration contains 70 points that include aspects of policy, economic and financial coordination, as well as cooperation in education, culture and environment.

The final document is expected to include paragraphs on the situation in some Middle Eastern countries, such as Syria and Palestine; as well as multilateralism and peaceful settlement of disputes.
