Cusco locals, Culture Ministry and municipal authorities have carried out clean-up works at Pisac Archaeological Park’s monumental, preservation and conservation area, which ended up in an offering to Mother Earth, or Pachamama.

According to Merida Farfan Berrio, the park’s coordinator, the activity saw the participation of craftsman and driver associations, and was conducted to highlight the maintenance works undertaken in the area.

They also showed the treatment at the top of the walls, the maintenance of entry points and the implementation of the Early Warning System in sites under threat.

The use of signaling was also evidenced and the area has been equipped with handrails for visitors' convenience and safety.

Pisac Mayor Gabino Yucra Tunque noted the preservation works in the zone.

As is customary in August, the personnel held an offering ceremony to Mother Earth, or Pachamama, at the Intiwatana area.
