The mining sector displayed the best performance last June and added 1.2 percentage points to Peruvian GDP, Credit Suisse Economist appointed to Peru Juan Lorenzo affirmed.
“According to the bulletin issued by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI), the mining sector displayed the best performance during the analyzed month and added 1.2 [percentage] points to GDP thanks to the increased production of copper and other metals,” he indicated.
He went on to add mining and construction were the sectors, which expanded consistently during the analyzed month, reaching 8.5% and 2.4% growth rates, respectively.
It must be noted the mining and hydrocarbons sectors increased by 10.33% in June, the highest rate since 2009.
