Investment bank Credit Suisse maintains its growth forecast for the Peruvian economy at 3.8% for 2016, according to economist Juan Lorenzo Maldonado.

The National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI) informed the Peruvian economy grew 3.63% last June, experiencing 83 months of steady growth, thanks to the good performance of the mining sector, and the rising consumption of families.

"We maintain Peru 2016 GDP growth projection at 3.8%," Maldonado indicated.

According to June data, real gross domestic product (GDP) in Peru showed an inter-annual expansion of 3.7% in the second quarter of the year.
