Undoubtedly, former American supermodel Cindy Crawford will have excellent memories from Peru after visiting the Inca sanctuary of Machu Picchu and the northern Lambayeque region.

Speaking at a press conference, the international celebrity said she had spent “three wonderful days in Trujillo" and added she loved to visit Machu Picchu, located 50 miles away from the Andean city of Cuzco.

Likewise, the businesswoman stressed there are lot of wonderful places in Peru than only the historic landmarks, immediately associated with the Andean nation by foreigners.

The high-profile model added, "In Peru, there are more than just Machu Picchu, for instance there are beach resorts such as Huanchaco”.

While touring Trujillo, Crawford visited the Regional Institute of Ophthalmology (IRO) and the Flying Eye Hospital (FEH), managed by Orbis, an American nonprofit organization which is in the country training the local eye health community as part of a two-week ophthalmic training program.

At the IRO, Cindy pointed out Orbis' medical professionals and volunteers in action as they trained local eye health professionals. She spent time with and spoke to several young patients who had received treatment for their visual impairments.

"It is impressive and moving the work carried out by the doctors at the IRO hospital", she said.

The original model jetted off to the Andean nation by Sunday, accompanied by her two teenage children Kaia Jordan Gerber (12) and Presley Walker Gerber (15). She is reportedly now in the nation's capital Lima.
