“A bright future" awaits Peru and China, thanks to the joint work of both countries and the contribution their native civilizations have made to human development, Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang said on the second day of his official visit to Peru.

The Asian authority highlighted cultural similarities between the two nations while touring the National Museum of Archaeology, Anthropology and History in Lima, along with his Peruvian counterpart, Pedro Cateriano.

"Coincidences can be found in the Chavin culture figures and they are even more evident in the black pottery," he said after highlighting other bilateral similarities, such as that found in agricultural productivity.

"China is a source of rice while Peru of potato, and we exchange these foods, which promote development and survival of human beings," he said.

Chinese Premier and Cateriano attended the exhibition entitled "Origin of Chinese Civilization" at the said museum.

"Both civilizations contributed to the development of human beings and are likely to have more lights for a bright future," the visitor said before a toast with Peruvian pisco sour.

Afterwards, Li Keqiang held a private meeting with Peruvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ana Maria Sanchez and delegates from China and Peru for the Bilateral Mechanism of Strategic Dialogue on Economic Cooperation.

Later, the Asian visitor is due to visit the archaeological complex of Pachacamac, in southern Lima.
