Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang has recently announced that China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi will pay an official visit to the Republic of Peru.
In addition to Peru, Wang Yi will be visiting other three Latin American countries: Ecuador, Bolivia and Colombia.
Scheduled for October 3-9, Wang Yi's trip comes at the invitation of Foreign Ministers Guillaume Long (Ecuador), Ricardo Luna Mendoza (Peru), David Choquehuanca (Bolivia) and Maria Angela Holguin Cuellar (Colombia).
“Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visit will consolidate traditional friendship China has with the four countries, strengthen political mutual trust, enhance mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and elevate China-Latin America relationship to a new level,” Geng Shuang said at a press conference on Friday.
During his visits, the Chinese official will meet and hold talks with leaders and foreign ministers of the four nations, discussing bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common interest.
According to the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, these four Latin American countries all attach great importance to developing their relations with China.
At present, he continued, bilateral relations between China and these countries are developing well with broad cooperation prospects.
