A delegation of 40 Chinese entrepreneurs will visit Peru to learn about the country's trade opportunities and exportable offer in order to forge closer bilateral trade ties, the Association of Peruvian Exporters (ADEX) announced today.
Shandong province entrepreneurs will attend the China-Peru Business Round taking place on September 22 at the guild's headquarters in Lima (Peru).
Chinese officials and executives represent sub-sectors: agro-industry, farming, fishing, manufacturing, chemical, metal-mechanical, timber and services.
"Their objective is to meet with their Peruvian counterparts to establish trade contacts," noted the guild.
Participating Chinese companies are: Rizhao Xinhui Aquatic Breeding (marine products), Rushan Hengyu Food Limited Liability Company (fruits), Shandong Luxin Food Group Limited (poultry, beef and lamb), Shandong Sanzhan Company Limited (small articles, maternity wear and baby clothes) and Shandong Jinmashou Decorative Material Co. Ltd., among others.
Continuity
Arrival of the Asian mission takes place as follow-up to President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski's China visit last week to consolidate trade ties among both countries.
Event participants include: Chinese Embassy Economic and Commercial Counsellor Hao Qinmei, Shandong Commerce Department Deputy Director Lu Wei, Shandong Fishery and Ocean Department Deputy Director Song Jibao, Peru's Foreign Trade Deputy Minister Edgar Vasquez and Adex first Vice-President John Hartley.
About Shandong
It must be noted Shandong is one of China's main regions, producing cotton, wheat, gold, diamonds, sorghum and corn. Given its major oil deposits, it is among the Asian Giant's richest provinces.
Shandong also houses China's largest appliance maker, Haier Group, which recently bought General Electric's home appliance division for US$5.4 billion.
Food exports to China
According to Adex, Peru's food exports to China stood at US$241.9 million in 2015.
Main products imported by the Asian Giant were 'pota' squid, grapes, seaweed, crustacean flour, trout, fish liver, maca, maca flour, tangerines and white corn, among others.
