Bilateral trade between Peru and China will remain stable by the end of the year hitting an amount similar to the US$15.9 billion posted for 2014; however, 2016 will see a growth of about 5%, said Jose Tam, Chairman of the Chinese Peruvian Chamber of Commerce (Capechi).
This way, trade is projected to exceed US$16 billion next year.
On the Peruvian side, a slight improvement will be observed next year, as a result of higher non-traditional exports.
“Total exports will slightly increase next year, but results will reveal a more significant difference between traditional and non-traditional shipments, since the former will fall driven by metal prices and the latter will improve agricultural exports rise,” he explained.
Peru’s agro-exports will be underpinned by red globe grapes shipments and will see a 20% expansion in 2016.
