Chilean President Michelle Bachelet arrived in Peru on Thursday afternoon to participate in a series of official activities, including the Binational Cabinet meeting.

An aircraft carrying Ms. Bachelet and her official delegation landed at Air Group 8 Military Complex in Callao at 4:20 PM (local time).

Upon arrival, she was welcomed by Foreign Affairs Minister Ricardo Luna and received corresponding military honors.

As part of her visit to the Andean country, Chile's leader —joined by Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski— will meet with businesspeople from both nations at Lima's Torre Tagle Palace, Foreign Affairs Ministry headquarters.

The meeting will be attended by Peruvian Ministers Ricardo Luna, Fernando Zavala (Economy and Finance), Eduardo Ferreyros (Foreign Trade and Tourism) and Gonzalo Tamayo (Energy and Mines).

The Chilean entourage includes Ministers Heraldo Muñoz (Foreign Affairs), Luis Felipe Cespedes (Economy, Development and Tourism) and Andres Rebolledo (Energy).

Later tonight, Peru's top official will host a state dinner to honor Chile's Head of State and her delegation.

Events take place within the framework of the first Peru-Chile Binational Cabinet meeting planned for Friday in the Peruvian capital.
