CAF's Director Representative in Peru, Eleonora Silva, stressed the Andean nation is still one of the countries with the highest economic growth rates in Latin America.

“Amid the international situation, Peru is still well positioned in terms of economic growth. The country has diversified its exports and will continue to do so through agro-export programs,” she told Andina news agency.

The Andean nation has a portfolio of important projects expected to be the engines of its economy in addition to the dynamism of mining and infrastructure sectors.

“The opportunity Peru will face over the years is great to improve and be more efficient. This would definitely be a great chance to take advantage of technology improvements and to be more competitive,” Silva added.

She explained the time is right for mining, agribusiness and manufacture sectors to specialize and seek productivity improvements to be more competitive at the international level.
