Bahrain likely to sign FTA with Peru

The Kingdom of Bahrain is hopeful of signing a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Peru and promote investment in this country, Peru's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The proposal to strengthen trade relations was made during a meeting held by Peru's Deputy Foreign Minister, José Beraún and Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Abdullah Abdullatif Abdullah, as part of Beraún's official visit to several Arb countries.

The visit was aimed to extended an invitation to King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa on behalf of Peru's President Ollanta Humala  to participate in the Third South American-Arab Countries (ASPA) summit, an event to be held on October 1-2, 2012 in Lima.  

At the meeting with Beraún, Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla reiterated his country's willingness to attend the Third ASPA Summit.

Abdulla Abdullatif and Beraún agreed about the many opportunities that both countries offer in the political and economic field as Peru is a gateway for business in Asia-Pacific region, while Bahrain in the Arabian Gulf.
